* All Spelling tests will be announced and your child will be asked to write the date for each test in his/her homework notebook.
* Your child has a standing assignment to study the list for about 10 minutes each night. If your child is not spending about 10 minutes each night practicing the current Spelling words, he/she is not completing a portion of the assigned homework.
* The words included in each Spelling list are words that appear often in our Reading selections found in Harcourt's Trophies. The list of words will usually be grouped to follow certain vowel and/or consonant patterns. Yes... Phonics instruction is still around!!
