Figurative language creates clear and compelling images. We chose an emotion to personify, giving human qualities to feelings we may have. We wrote with insight and creativity, demonstrating our understanding of the power of personification. Enjoy our poetry!

Playful

I saw playful clearly
He was extremely short and had light brown hair
He turned and asked me to play football
I saw his pants had pearl stripes and his shirt was too long for him
And heard him screaming when he made a touchdown
And I felt fantastic

I saw embarrassment clearly
She was twitchy and shaky
She turned and ran away

I saw insanity clearly
He was slim and psychotic
He turned and spun his head a full revolution... Scary!
I saw his dark face and slim body
And heard him mumble to himself "divided by ze square root of 80... equals... my god..."
