Enjoy Our Character Poems
February 2006
We were invited by the Pike County Courier to submit poetry for their Children's 2006 edition. The assignment for 5th grade students asked children to "write a poem that describes a character you recently read about. Include adjectives and a description that paints a clear picture of your character."

We continue to develop a wide variety in our reading tastes. Genre and author preference guide our selection in our enthusiastic search for independent reading material. Enjoy our Character Poems!

This project aligned with the following Pennsylvania Academic Standards:
1.1.5 Learning to Read Independently
1.4.5 Types of Writing
1.5.5 Quality of Writing
3.7.5 Technological Devices
